Time Crunch

Today we went to Bassett Furniture to sit on the sofa and chair we want, and everything was super comfortable.

Well, Lou and Cindy and Mike all agreed that it was comfy. I was uncomfortable and tired. I was ready for another painkiller, actually, and ended up lying on the sofa, which was comfy.

When we left, I took my painkiller exactly on time, 4 hours after the last one.

We ended up purchasing everything we need for the sunroom, based on recommendations from fabulous Celeste, our design consultant. Gosh this room will be so nice. You will have a comfy seat and pretty view no matter where you sit.

Usually it takes 30 days for custom upholstery, but Lou asked for a quicker time frame, since I'm in hospice now.

The furniture will be delivered in 3 weeks, instead of 4 weeks! Yippee!

The sunroom has always been our favorite space, and now it will be beautiful.

Hi Karen,
Everyone was sharing last night at Friday Medina how much you mean to them and how much they love and care about you. Helen G. who is a member of Medina and also a home hospice nurse told me the same thing that your doctors said, that going into hospice does often make a positive difference. I know it will not be possible but I still can't help wishing that you were going to be well enough to still come out here in August to share Kathy's and Chrys' and my birthdays. So glad you and Lou were able to go shopping to pick out the new furniture for your sun room it sounds beautiful! Love you lots and lots!!! Debbie P. from Bellevue

Dear Friends of Karen, Thought I'd suggest something. Some years back we had a friend who left for the east coast to be in hospice. At work we got a movie camera and set up a booth where people could come and send a message. I'm suggesting that we each record some video and send it to Karen so she can see us smiling, waving, and sending loving messages whenever she has time and energy. I'm going to give it a try this weekend. Much love to this community and especially to you, Karen!

Your old friend, Jeannie

Hey I was thinking of you the other week driving to Abby's school to pick her up.I was thinking of how you held my hand and talked to me when I needed you and where so afraid at first to hold Abby when she was in NICCU. and then you did for a few moments. how you helped throw not only my honeymoon is over bridal shower but hosted my baby shower.

How much of a wonderful friend you have been over the years and how blessed I am and have been to have you in my life.

I can not imagine what you and lou are going though and you know I will not pretend to. BUT I will be here for you.
I miss you very much and I treasure the time we have.

I would love to see you again. in person.
