Happy Hospice Nurse

Judy walked in with a smile on her face and a genuine outpouring of warmth, compassion, and professionalism.

I knew right away that she would be the perfect hospice nurse for me.

Thanks, everyone, for your supportive comments. They helped.

That's all I have for now. I am actually sort of wiped out. Going to watch some trash TV now...

That's great news, Karen! Thanks for giving us the news. I think we have all been hoping that the best nurse for you would quickly walk through the door. I'm so glad you've found the right person.

Karen, so glad you spoke up this morning and that now you have a fabulous nurse. I hope that you and Tinalynne have a wonderful visit together. When I first met you in Bellevue 1994 you told me that Tinalynne and her mom were two of the most important people in your life and it is terrific that your friendship has lasted your entire lifetime!! Love you lots, Debbie P.

Excellent! And trash tv is my favorite channel.
I know (aunt) Pat and (uncle) Omer (sorry I just cannot outright call them by their first names - my upbringing - darn parents) brought you up to be polite but there is a big difference from clear and honest to being rude.
Be kind to yourself

So then in other words she's just like you! Smiling, warm, compassionate and wonderful!

Thanks for coming out Saturday, it just wouldn't have been the same without you.

So happy you were able to handle the nurse situation right up front and not have it drag on. And your efforts paid off! Once again you are a great teacher by example.

Karen, I lost my wife to uterine sarcoma about a year and a half ago. The agency that we had was a large Minneapolis health agency. They were awful and we chose not to go for hospice for that reason. We should have gone outside that system and found another that would meet our needs. The next weeks and months are about you and Lou. You are great people...... never accept anyone into your lives who does not place you on a pedestal. God bless you both during this journey.
