Dismantling My Office Today

Today, Darlene is driving us to my workplace so I can dismantle my office.

Actually I hear that all my stuff is already packed up. April packed up for me back when new carpeting was installed in the entire building. Then nobody ever unpacked.

The tricky part is that I want to bring home just a few select items. I want to abandon the rest!

So I'll have to dig through those boxes to find what I want.

I am also delivering a few select items to a few select people.

The rest, I am either throwing out --- or leaving for people to scavenge through.

It would make me happy to think that my magnets found a good home...

Or that maybe someone on my team took my glass shoe collection as a momento of the hours they spent trying to explain things to me...

Karen, Emptying out what you want from your office has got to be hard, hard, hard. I think it is cool you are leaving a bunch behind. I have some nice houseplants from a cleaned out random office at UW and the other thing I got on a desk that is routinely used to dump unwanteds in a hallway at work was a collection of paperweights. I kept the ones I liked and put the rest back on the dump desk. Someone will surely like your glass shoes.

Love you,

Karen-right after I posted I decided to go to the office to hopefully catch you! Bummer that I missed you! Tell me the story of that doll you left with your lanyard around its neck! Made me smile!

She is the official Barbie from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Company! There was a Certificate of Authenticity but it got lost in the shuffle.

I saw them perform when I was in college, and it was so beautiful and impactful that I never foegot it.

Plus, she is really fun to pose because she is so flexible!

Hope you got your office cleaned out. I think that way about cleaning out stuff and getting rid of stuff. Makes me happy that some one else will use it and luv it. And who did I first hear that from? Ms. Patsy when she and Omer had their huge large sale before they moved. In fact it was about all her elephants that she sold! Or was she the owl lady, no that is Michael's aunt Barb I think...Pasty is elephants...

Oh, I saw the dancing doll's Certificate of Authenticity and knew it was important, so I tucked in into something else that I thought was probably important (so it wouldn't get crinkled or otherwise messed up) and put in one of the boxes. Also that "Blah Blah" book you let me borrow...I tucked it into one of the boxes as well. Hope you found it.
